勸修寺

此寺院位於京都市山科區，為真言宗山階派的大本山。其為醍醐天皇為祈求生母藤原胤子之冥福而於900年所創建，因此也是與皇室及藤原氏有所淵源的寺院。在建有白色築地塀（以瓦片和泥土堆砌而成的土牆）的參道前方矗立著山門，而獲指定為重要文化財的書院前庭則安置笠部寬大的石燈籠，其乃水戶光圀所捐獻。寺院境內還設有池泉迴遊式庭園，位於中心的「冰室之池」以美麗的蓮花和杜若而聞名。據說在平安時代，每年1月2日會將冰室之池的冰塊進獻皇室，並依冰塊厚度來占卜五穀豐收的情形。
