是为保护西表山猫等西表岛濒危野生生物而设立的保护活动基地。里面展示着西表岛的自然环境和野生生物相关信息，同时利用展示板展出并向人们讲解西表山猫的生态环境、繁殖情况和保护措施等。除了西表山猫之外，还可以欣赏到栖息于西表岛的鸟类和候鸟、动物等的剥制标本。保护中心的西表山猫原创商品的销售额将全部捐赠给西表野生生物保护基金会。
