- Tobu Nikko is located about two hours away from Asakusa. Which means, if you depart from 9am, you can begin your journey at 11am. The Toshogu Shrine is celebrating their 400 year history with a festival and, to memorialize the moment, the Spacia train has been coated in gold paint. This celebration gives the shrines and temples of Nikko a vivid image of support and camaraderie.

Comparing this with the Toshogu shrine, there is a dearth of people here. So much so that you can absorb the spiritual air around you without distraction.
