아마노이와토진자 신사

고사기, 일본서기에 기록되어 있는 아마노이와토 신화를 전하고 아마테라스 오미카미가 숨었다는 아마노이와토 바위를 신체로 모신 신사이다. 이와토가와 강을 끼고 아마테라스 오미카미를 모시는 서본궁과 동본궁이 있으며, 서본궁의 사무소에 신청하면 손을 씻고 정화한 후, 아마노이와토를 직접 참배할 수 있다. 또한, 서본궁에서 이와토가와 강을 따라 10분 정도 걸으면 아마테라스가 숨었을 때, 800만의 신이 협의했다고 전해지는 동굴, 아마노야스가와라가 있다.
