히코네죠 성의 북동쪽에 있는 큰 연못 회유식 정원. 히코네번의 4대 번주 이이 나오오키가 지었다고 전해진다. 중국 당나라 현종의 이궁을 참고로 에도문화의 화려함을 연출하여 지은 정원. 큰 연못에 불쑥 튀어나오듯이 세워진 린치각과 언덕 위의 호쇼대 등의 건축물이 있으며, 수목과 암석을 교묘하게 배치하여 '오미 팔경'을 본뜨고 있다. 11월의 단풍철에 실시되는 경관조명도 볼거리.
