고베시에 있는 박물관. 1982년에 개관. 구 요코하마 쇼킨 은행 고베지점으로 세워진 건물을 증개축하여 이용하고 있으며, 국가 등록 유형 문화재로 등록되어 있다. 건축가 사쿠라이 고타로의 마지막 작품. 국보를 포함하여 고고학 자료와 근세 서양미술, 고베에 관련된 미술자료, '성 프란시스코 사비에르 상' 등 저명한 미술 약 7만점을 소장하고 있다. 상설전 외에 연 수차례 기획전도 개최.

The museum is amazing if you’re interested in Kobe’s history. The first floor is free.If you don’t speak Japanese well, you won’t have to worry since they have all English subtitles when projecting...

Despite the Museum being closed, it continues to promotes itself on all tourist brochures being handed out at Tourist Information. We took the trouble to walk there then finding out it was closed...
