Ueno Summer Festival Parade

Event
This massive parade, Ueno Summer Festival's main event, follows the route of the parade commemorating the opening of the Tohoku Shinkansen in 1982. Spectators gather from all over inside and out of Japan to see performances of traditional Japanese entertainments like Nebuta floats, Sansa Odori and Yosakoi dances, as well as marching bands and more in three venues: in front of JR Ueno Station, Ueno Suijo Music Hall, and along Ueno Chuo-dori Avenue. The plaza at Ueno Chuo-dori Avenue has paid seating (reservations required) where you can catch the impressive performance from the best vantage point!
