Sapporo Snow Festival

Event
The Sapporo Snow Festival is considered one of the three greatest snow festivals in the world. In addition to the primary festival venue at Odori Park, festival events are also held in the Susukino area and at the Tsudome (the community dome), which are decorated with close to 200 snow sculptures ranging from the small to the very large. The white snow sculptures glitter under Hokkaido's blue skies, creating an impressive sight. At night, the sculptures are lit up, creating a different, more magical atmosphere for festival-goers to enjoy. Over two million people come from around the world to attend the festival, making it one of the biggest events held in all of Japan.
