Takayama Spring Festival
The Takayama Festival is comprised of a Sanno Festival in spring and a Hachiman Festival in fall. The spring Sanno Festival is the yearly festival of the Hie-jinja Shrine; held every April, a parade of 12 gorgeous traditional parade floats takes center stage. As the floats move along, a variety of traditional performances are conducted to delight onlookers, including mechanical dolls with fantastically elaborate and smooth movements.
