Mito Komon Festival

A big event and the highly of summer in Mito which was started in 1961. During the day, there's a parade of floats, music, and dancers; a traditional music carnival; and a display of portable shrines. At night, a fireworks show is held. Throughout the day, the city is filled with energy. Meanwhile, numerous stalls and vendors open up near Lake Senba, and each year the city bustles with the many visitors come for the event.
