Sendai Tanabata Fireworks Festival

Event
This large-scale fireworks display is held the night before Sendai's Tanabata Festival. It has been enjoyed for many years as a summer tradition in Sendai. Mainly consisting of starmines, the summer night sky is brilliantly lit from the continued launches of over 10,000 fireworks. You can enjoy the fireworks from rooftops, commercial facilities, parks and many other locations because the launch site is close to the center of the city. There is restricted admission and traffic in the surrounding areas, including Kawauchi Station which is the closest to the venue, so make sure to arrive early.
