Takehara Summer Fireworks Festival

Event
The venue for this festival is Little Kyoto of Aki (historic Hiroshima), Takehara City, Hiroshima Prefecture, in which the manor of the Shimogamo-jinja Shrine in Kyoto has been located since the feudal period. The successive launching of around 3,000 fireworks within seconds is a sight to see. The street stall-market lining the 500 meter-long pier with over 100 booths is one of only a few in the prefecture. The fireworks launched from a staging boat on the sea brilliantly illuminate the night sky above the Seto Inland Sea, foretelling the end of summer for Geinan Region.
