Ashidagawa River Fireworks Festival

This festival is held on the third day of the Fukuyama Summer Matsuri festival that spices up Fukuyama summers. Powerful dazzling fireworks can be enjoyed from the stands that are set up on both banks of the Ashida River capitalizing on the expansive water surface. The event boasts the longest starmine fireworks display in West Japan, which is the highlight of the festival. The spectators' voices swell in awe from the facing banks as the powerful 1.4 kilometer long display is set off. Attracting over 300,000 spectators annually, this is a Fukuyama classic summer event.
