Yoshino River Midsummer Night's Fireworks Festival

Event
This is a seasonal summer event held in Gojo City, Nara Prefecture. It is said that the Father of Fireworks in Japan, Kagiya Yahei, hails from Gojo City. This fireworks festival is considered to display advanced-tech fireworks, in that it takes place on the banks of the Yoshino River, where Yahei first started making fireworks. The fireworks and laser lights set to music that brighten the night sky are a must see sight. On the same day, the Benten sect floating lantern rite is also held as one of the Gojo City summer activities.
