Kawanakajima Battlefield Fireworks Festival
This festival, as part of the Kawanakajima Battlefield Matsuri festival, is held for the purpose of reposing the souls of those who died in the Battle of Kawanakajima and aims to spur regional growth. The festival launches approximately 3,000 fireworks, including starmine displays set to music and other oversized starmines. At the Hachiman Shrine, occupying a section of the battlefield park, votive lanterns are lit for the deceased, creating a fantastical atmosphere. Public transportation access should be arranged prior to the fireworks festival day, as the park's parking and all parking nearby is closed.
