Matsue Suigosai FireworksFestival
The largest fireworks festival in western Japan takes place at Lake Shinji. The huge variety of fireworks is perfect for the amazing natural surroundings, and elaborate starmines, shakudama (12 inch shells), angled volleys, and aquatic fireworks splash the summer night sky and lake surface with vibrant color. There are few obstacles around the grounds, and visitors can watch from an extensive area including Shirakata Park, Chidori Minami Park, Suetsugu Park, and Lake Shinji Ohashi Bridge. Close to the launch area, Shirakata Park offers paid seating (reservations required).
