Kamakura Fireworks Show
This fireworks show has been beloved as a Kamakura summer tradition since 1949. The highlight must be the aquatic fireworks, which are launched by boat and explode across the ocean surface. The beauty of the fan-shaped fireworks speeding over the ocean is definitely a sight to see. Out of consideration for the ideal of local-production local-consumption, the Kamakura Fireworks Show uses fireworks partially made with tree scraps and trimmings gathered from local homes, temples and forests in Kamakura. We recommend you wear traditional Japanese clothing to watch the fireworks, as there are many shops nearby that offer rental yukata and kimonos.
