Mizumoto Park
Mizumoto Park is a municipal riverside park located in Katsushika City, Tokyo. It is famous as a habitat for Euryale ferox (a rare member of the water-lily family), and for Nymphoides peltata (which is in danger of extinction). Water channels of different sizes run through the extensive Park, and there are rows of poplar trees, a Metasequoia redwood grove, Japanese alders, etc., making for a verdant riverine landscape. From late March through into early April, around 1,300 cherry trees—including Yoshino, hill cherry, Sato-zakura cherry, etc.—come into bloom, and the Park is full of family groups and other visitors who have come to view the cherry blossom. Sights that are particularly worth seeing include the Mizumoto Cherry Tree Embankment, which extends for around 3.5 kilometers along the edge of the Park, and the Mizumoto Cherry Tree Waterfall, which brings together cherry trees and a waterfall. Toilets, shops, and paid parking available.
