Hondoji Temple

Event
This Nichiren Buddhist Temple in Hiraga of Matsudo City, Chiba Prefecture, is renowned as the “Ajisai Temple” for its 10,000 flowering hydrangea bushes. Here and there around the precincts there are Yoshino and weeping cherry trees, and the blooming season typically runs from late March until early April. There is a beautiful harmony with the spirea flowers planted beneath the cherry trees, making the rose and white scenery of this famous temple well worth seeing. The temple is open from 8:00 to 17:00 (last entry 16:30). The admission fee is 500 yen for junior high school students and older and free for elementary school students and younger. Toilets available. No parking on the premises.
