Hinokinai Riverbank
In 1934, Yoshino cherry trees were planted along a nearly two kilometers scenic stretch of the Hinokinai River’s embankment to commemorate the birth of the Emperor. Designated a National Place of Scenic Beauty in 1975, it was selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots in 1990. Every year from late April to early May, all the trees burst into bloom, and the whole area turns the rosy hue of the cherry blossoms.
