Event
Located in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, this school was built in Edo period for the general public. Many items here have been designated as National Important Cultural Properties, including the Seibyo hall and Shizutani-jinja Shrine. The building surrounded by stone walls is the only such school in the country, and a National Treasure. Yoshino cherry trees line the front gate and bloom around April 10th, much to the excitement of visitors. The competing camellia, which bloom a bit before peak season, are also quite beautiful. Hours are from 9:00 to 17:00. The admission fee is 400 yen for adults, 100 yen for elementary and junior high school students, and 200 yen for persons 65 and older. Toilets and free parking available.
