Yunoko Cherry Line

Event
The road is one of Japan’s Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots, and is a popular spot for driving around to take in the beautiful scenery. In particular, the five-kilometer stretch along Yunoko Coast, called the “Yunoko Cherry Line”, features about 500 cherry trees including Yoshino cherries and hill cherries in rows that form a tunnel of blossoms during peak season. The pale pink of cherry blossoms contrasts beautifully with the fresh green of spring and the deep navy blues of Shiranui Sea (Yatsushiro Sea). During peak season, the Yunoko Sakura Festival is held, and a flower-viewing tour boat operates (reservations required.)
