Tsurugajo Park
This park was created around castle ruins, specifically around Tsurugajo Castle, which has the country’s only red brick castle tower. About 1,000 cherry trees, from Yoshino cherries to double-flowered cherries and Kohigan-zakura cherries, are planted here, selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots. The Tsurugajo Castle Sakura Festival is held every year during peak season, along with other events and nighttime illumination. The mysterious beauty of cherry blossoms floating in front of Tsurugajo Castle under a night sky is certainly worth seeing once.
