Showa-no-Mori Center
The Showa-no-Mori Center is a tourist facility attached to the Amagigoe roadside station in Izu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Besides an information center introducing the natural wonders of the Amagi Mountains and a literary museum, there is also a restaurant. The cherry tree on the north side of the parking area and the tree at the northern edge of the “Amagi Green Garden” are renowned as the largest Edo-higanzakura cherry trees in the Izu region. The cherry blossom is at its best around mid-April to late April each year, when it delights the eyes of visitors to the Center. The Showa-no-Mori Center is open from 8:30 to 16:30; it is closed on the third Wednesday of every month. There are shops and toilets. The admission charge for entrance to the Izu Literature Museum is 300 yen for adults and 100 yen for children.
