Shiroyama Park

A park situated on a hill in Kirishima City, Kagoshima Prefecture which offers a spectacular and sweeping view extending from the Kirishima Mountain Range to Bay of Kinkou and even Sakurajima. The park boasts a variety of facilities the whole family can enjoy, including scenic lookouts, go-karts, a Ferris wheel, and roller slide. The park is also a popular destination for cherry blossom viewing in spring. Some 720 Yoshino and other cherry tree varieties growing on the park’s grounds reach their peak blooming period from late March to early April, while azaleas come into complimentary bloom in April as well. The park is visited by large numbers of flower viewing-seekers each year during this time. When in bloom, the cherry trees are illuminated at night, and a cherry blossom festival is also held on park grounds for two days. Hours are 9:30 to 17:00 October to March and 9:30 to 18:00 April to September. Toilets and parking available.
