Kiso River riverside in Inuyama City

Event
The area around Inuyama Castle, a National Treasure built in the Muromachi period, and the riverside area along the clear Kiso River are planted with several hundred Yoshino cherry trees. Inuyama Castle’s keep is said to be built in the oldest style of any extant castle still standing in Japan, and in spring this historic structure becomes decorated by the surrounding cherry blossoms. The cherry trees along the riverbank also spring into bloom, giving visitors the chance to enjoy an atmospheric and elegant atmosphere. The best time to see the blossoms is usually from late March to early April, and during this time a sightseeing boat operates on the river from which you can enjoy the scenery. A flower viewing rickshaw service also operates along the walkway in the area. Parking and toilets available.
