Kumagaya Sakurazutsumi

Event
An embankment extending about two kilometers along the Arakawa River is planted with approximately 500 Yoshino cherries, and this area has been a renowned cherry blossom viewing destination since the Edo period. Also selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots, the sight of the tunnel of cherry blossoms these trees create in spring overhead is truly spectacular. The best time to view the blossoms is usually from late March to early April, and the Kumagaya Cherry Blossom Festival is held to coincide with the peak blooming period. The trees are also lit up at night during blooming season. While the trees are in bloom, a variety of stall and stands open up in the area, and free parking is also provided specially during this time, resulting in large numbers of visitors coming to enjoy flower viewing. Toilets available. The nearest station is Kumagaya Station.
