Sumida Park
Rows of cherry trees extend along both banks of the Sumida River for approximately one kilometer. The area is one of the top cherry blossom viewing destinations in Tokyo and has even been selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots. Primarily from late March to early April, 42 varieties of cherry trees, including Yoshino cherries and Yae red weeping cherries, come into bloom. The sight of the cherry trees blooming at the foot of Tokyo Skytree is a must-see. The view from sightseeing boats and aquatic busses travelling the river is also gorgeous. When the flowers are in bloom, a variety of stands and stall open up in the area, and the trees are illuminated at night. Toilets and parking available. The nearest station is Asakusa Station.
