Lake Kuzuryu

Event
An artificial lake located in Ono City, Fukui Prefecture formed by the Kuzuryu Dam. The emerald green of the lake and the natural beauty of the lakeshore combine to create beautiful scenery. Some 2,700 cherry trees have been planted along the lakeshore by the activity of the Kuzuryu 10 Thousand Cherry Tree Society (Kuzuryu Manbon Sakurakai), which aims to ultimately plant 10,000 cherry trees in the area. When the cherry blossoms come into bloom in spring, visitors can enjoy the contrast of the pink blossoms, blue lake, and green mountains. The area is renowned for its late-blooming cherries, which usually reach their peak from late April to early May, and National Route 158, which travels along the lakeshore, is a popular driving course during flower viewing season. Toilets and parking available.
