Sankeien Garden
A Japanese garden which was created by businessman Tomitaro Hara located in Naka Ward, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Some 300 Yoshino cherries, hill cherries, Oshima cherries, weeping cherries, and other cherry tree varieties grow in beautiful harmony with the garden’s elegant scenery reminiscent of ancient Kyoto and Nara. The cherry trees around the pond in the outer garden are particularly spectacular. The row of cherry trees along the Honmoku-dori Avenue in front of the main gate is another of the garden’s many highlights. The best time for viewing the garden’s cherry trees is from late March to early April, and during this time the trees are lit up at night. The garden is open from 9:00 to 17:00 (last entry 16:30; entry permitted until 20:30 when the blossoms are lit up at night). Entry 700 yen for high school students and older, 200 yen for elementary and junior high school students. Toilets, shops and parking available.
