Mifuneyama Rakuen

Event
Due to its resemblance in shape to a Chinese boat called a kara-bune (or tosen) in Japanese, Mt. Mifune is also called Mt. Karasen. The Mifuneyama Rakuen garden is located at the base of the mountain on its western side. Known for its profusion of seasonal blooming plants, the garden is also a stunning destination for fall foliage. Some of the garden's many highlights include a giant Japanese maple tree 170 years old, and the sight of trees decked out in fall colors reflected in the waters of the garden's pond. During the fall, the garden is lit up at night, one of the largest scale such events in Japan, enwrapping the entire area in a magical atmosphere.
