Akagi Kogen Onsen
A hot spring inn located in Naegashima-machi, Maebashi City with a sweeping view of the Kanto Plain. Situated on the south side of Mt. Akagi, one of Japan's 100 most famous mountains, here visitors can soak in baths mixing waters from two source springs. The waters of these iron ion and metasilicic acid-containing springs are said to prevent post-bath chills and treat such ailments as nerve pain, muscle soreness, joint pain, sensitivity to cold, and fatigue. The inn also makes a convenient place from which to visit such area sightseeing destinations as the thousand cherry trees of the Akagi Nanmen Senbonzakura, one of Maebashi City's top tourism sites; Miyosawa Akagi-jinja Shrine, which possesses numerous Prefectural Important Cultural Property-designated treasures; and the Akusawa Family Residence, a designated National Important Cultural Property. Note that the inn's hot spring bathing facilities are not open to non-guests.
