Heda Onsen
This scenic hot spring district, offering a view of Mt. Fuji from across Suruga Bay, is the newest in Izu-its waters only began gushing forth in 1986. The waters of its sulfate springs are said to treat such ailments as high blood pressure, hardening of the arteries, and skin diseases. Some of the bathing facilities here boast an outdoor bath from which bathers can enjoy a view of the sun setting beyond Suruga Bay and Mt. Fuji; there are also many lodging facilities in the area, ensuring visitors can choose one that matches their budget and purposes. The Ichi no Yu public bathhouse has hot spring water drinking facilities, and the hot spring stand next to the bathhouse sells water straight from a hot spring source which can be used at home. The stand is open from 6:00 to 23:00; prices are 200 for 500 liters and 100 for 200 liters.
