Nanki Katsuura Onsen
A hot spring district situated along the sea at the foot of Mt. Nachi registered as part of the Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range World Heritage Site. Notable for its over 100 source springs and abundant volume of piping hot water, in 2014 the area was designated the Nanki Kumano Geopark. Hotel Urashima's Boukido Cave is a large hot spring bath facility housed inside a natural cave carved out by the raging waves of the Kumano Sea. The Hotel Nakanoshima's Kishu Chomon no Yu is a seaside outdoor bath from which bathers can enjoy watching the waves break right before their eyes. There are many renowned baths carved out by Mother Nature herself here, and Kii-Katsuura Station's strolling garden is dotted with footbaths.
