Mt. Yuri
A mountain located in Kinokawa City, Wakayama Prefecture famous for its night view. In 1857, an 88 station pilgrimage route was built halfway up the mountain; this later fell into disrepair but a three kilometer portion was restored as a hiking course in 1987. Many people come here to enjoy the cherry blossoms in spring and the fall foliage in autumn. An observatory at the top of the mountain offers a sweeping view of the Kinokawa Plain. A 30 minute drive from the Kaminogo Interchange.

- This trail follows the Mt. Yuri New Shikoku Pilgrimage path around the middle of Mt. Yuri starting from Ajido, established in the late Edo period when the pilgrimage was fixed nationwide. The trail is about three kilometers long, and although doesn't climb that high, it offers a fantastic view of the Kinokawa plain since there are no obstructions below. At the beginning of spring, the blooming peach orchards of Momoyama-cho spread out like a pink carpet below. The summit is famous as ancient battlefield from the Nanbokucho period, and looking down from the Saishogamine Observation Deck there offers a stunning view of the Kinokawa plain. The forests of Mt. Yuri are famous all over Japan as paraglider take-off points.
