"This historical building in Nishidezu-cho, Nagasaki City was built in 1883 by Father de Roth, a French missionary who was assigned to the area in the Meiji era (1868-1912), as a vocational school for local women. It is designated as a National Important Cultural Property and is also included in the World Heritage Site ""Dezu Settlement on the Outer Sea"" of the ""Heritage Site Related to the Hidden Christians in Nagasaki and Amakusa Region""."

世界遺産「潜伏キリシタン」の出津集落にある女性のための授産施設跡です。この地の余りに貧しい女性達のためにド・ロ神父が私財を投げうって作ったマカロニや糸、素麺など換金性の高い品の製造所はその建物やこの地独特の製法のド・ロ壁と共に重文指定されています。シスターによる説明をぜひ聴かれることをお勧めします。再び祖国に帰らない覚悟で危険な禁教下の日本に来て生涯この地に奉仕した神父の愛の物語に感動しました。
