Yamachosuji Old Town street
This area is a designated Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, with machiya townhouses from mid-Meiji, Taisho, and early Showa periods in earthen walled styles, Shinkabe lime plaster walled styles, ones with western-style facades, and brick-built western banks. It covers 5.5 hectares, including all of Moriyama-machi and Konmade-machi districts, and parts of Onmadashi-machi, Kifune-machi, Ichiban-machi, Genpei-machi, and Moto-machi.
