This manor belonged to the Murosaki family, one of Takaoka's leading merchants and dealers in cotton yarn and fabrics up to 1945, and is now opened to the public by the city as a museum. The Yama-cho Suji street is lined with machiya townhouses that bring out the particular characteristics of earthen-walled buildings. You can take a full tour of the main building. There are also displays related to the history of Takaoka's town building, and earthen-walled construction.

中に入ってガイドさんの話をゆっくり聞きました。

このいえのこと、伊藤博文と関わりがあったこと、家の作りのこと、お祭りのこと、北前船のことたくさんの話を聞けました。時間があまりなかったのですが一時間ほどがあっという間でした。中に入って暮らしぶりを見た方がいいと思います。
土蔵造りを見れる

高岡大仏から坂下町通りを歩いて行くと10分もしないくらいで土蔵造りの古い町並みのエリアに行くことができます。入り口に名前の入った暖簾があるコンクリートの壁のどっしりとした建物です。
資料館というより民家です

菅野家と同じような民家です。資料館と思うと拍子抜けします。案内役のおばさまの「高岡市は人口がどんどん減ってる」「高岡市はお金がないので修復できない」という嘆きが耳に残りました。お庭が荒れてて残念でした。
