This museum is located in the town of Oyado, and displays daily necessities and farming implements used in rural areas in the pre-mechanization era, with the aim of conveying the traditional lifestyle of the past to the present day. In addition to school textbooks, the library also has a collection of textbooks used in terra-cotta schools in the past, as well as textbooks from other countries.

御宿駅を降りて岸和田方面に向かうロペス通りの左側にあります。御宿町歴史民俗博物館の看板がありますからすぐに分かります。僕の行った時には特別展で「御宿とメキシコの熱い絆」をやっていました。410年前のサンフランシスコ号の遭難救助の歴史が分かりやすく展示解説されていました。常設展示では御宿町の住民の使用した生活用具、農耕用具が並んでいます。併設して五倫文庫と呼ばれている...

世界中の教科書が集められています。（かなりの量です。）日本の古い教科書も閲覧することができ、なかなか興味深いです。平日は、ほとんど人がいません。

御宿駅から駅前通りを海の方向に歩いてすぐの場所です。ユニークなのは財団法人五倫文庫から寄贈された「五倫文庫」という世界の教科書を所蔵している点です。今までに見たことのないものでした。建物の前には、赤い円筒形の郵便ポストが設置されており、ノスタルジックな光景でした。
