"This brewery founded in 1849 is located in a rich natural setting about 15 minutes from Kasuga Interchange on the Maizuru Wakasa Expressway. The brewery continues to make sake that is not ""that phantom sake you would like to drink just once"" but instead ""that once-in-a-lifetime sake you want to drink again."" The brewery's classic Kotsuzumi is a famous Tamba sake named by the poet Kyoshi Takahama. It has received high praise from all over the world as a fresh-tasting rice wine that represents the best of what Japanese sake to offer. The brewery's novel yet nostalgic bottle designs were created by the artist Kosuke Watanuki. He continues to innovate even now through unfettered thinking that blends Japanese and Western styles, and furthermore, transcends any borders."

西山酒造道のお酒は近くの道の駅でも購入可能ですが、蔵に併設してあるショップに来ると、西山酒造道オリジナルの升や、御酒印帳、トートバッグなどの購入が可能です。週末はイベントが開催されていることもあり、私はくじ引きでフェイスマスクと、おちょこをいただきました。駐車場は道を挟んで向かいにありますが、４台ほどしか停めれなかったように思います。
日本好きには最高の場所です！

日本酒作りの過程や製品を、一年を通して見学することが出来ます。試飲も出来て、お酒好きの方には楽しく過ごせる場所です。
丹波のお酒と酒蔵

そばんちでそばを食べた後、「山名・西山酒造とも近くですよ」と聞き、山名酒造とこの西山酒造に寄りました。山名の本丹波はあまりみかけませんが、西山酒造の「小鼓」一升瓶はよく聞き、結構手に入ります。種類も多く、ぶどう酒もありました。吟醸の生３００ｍｌを買いました。建物が素敵。有形文化財になっているだけのことはある。軒下は一見の価値。素晴らしいたたずまいです。
