Uomachi District
Centering on Nagashima Port, the Nagashima district in Kihoku Town, Kitamuro County, Mie Prefecture is a fishing town known for boasting some of the greatest catches in the entire prefecture. Visitors can stroll amidst townscape which retains much of the charm of a traditional, old-fashioned fishing town. The Funa Danjiri, a festival to pray for good catches which has been performed since the Edo period, is also held here in January.
