Ryugashido Cavern Museum

Reference/Local/Exhibition/Literature Museum
This museum is Japan's first cave-themed museum. Ryugashido Cavern is a limestone cavern open to tourists which is one of the largest in the Tokai region and was formed in a limestone belt 250 million years ago. The museum, located near the cavern's entrance, contains 3D exhibits on stalactites, the cave's environment, and human interactions with the cave. Visitors can deepen their understanding of limestone caves and learn about stalactite types and how they are formed through actual examples and informational panels. The museum's exhibit which presents the cave's harsh conditions and life-risking work involved in exploring and surveying it is particularly stunning.
