Izu no Odoriko Bungakuhi
"This literary monument is located about a 14-minute bus ride from Kawazu Station on the Izu Kyuko Line on the Tokai Bus to Shuzenji Station and about a five-minute walk from the Yugano bus stop. It was created to commemorate the region being the setting of Kawabata Yasunari's novel ""The Dancing Girl of Izu."" The monument is installed in the garden of the Fukudaya inn, which was depicted in the novel. Kawabata even attended the unveiling ceremony in 1965. A literary festival celebrating the novel, the Izu no Odoriko Bungakusai, is held every November. During the festival, local youths dressed as the dancing girl and the student lay flowers at the monument. Fukudaya also opens its literary resource room to the public for free during the festival."
