Tenzan Toji-Kyo
A hot spring bath house located in the mountains near Hakone-Yumoto just across the Honobono Bridge crossing the Sukumogawa River a short walk from the Oku-Yumoto-Iriguchi bus stop along the upper Old-Tokaido road. The site covers nearly 8,000-tsubo (nearly 26,500 square meters) and is home to seven springs. The men's bath has five tubs and the women's six each offering a variety of temperatures and spring types. Among the variety of springs, the alkaline spring with a ph-level of 9.3 is also available for drinking. The spring water is said to help with excess gastric acid levels and hangovers and near the front desk there's a free fountain allowing you to give it a trial. The building is a remodeled classic house and from their relaxation area you can look out over the local verdant greenery. The underfloor heating keeps you warm even in winter allowing you to relax as you exit the bath.
