Asakusa Kokonoe
A fried manju bun shop three buildings down from Sensoji Temple. They conduct product demonstrations featuring their moderately sweet buns made with domestic azuki beans. They offer 11 types of fried manju buns, all crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Flavors include sesame, matcha green tea, chestnut and chocolate they're available for individual purchase. Fried with a blend of premium oils, they sell three-bun variety gift packs too. The expiry date is about two weeks from purchase. Enjoy their light crispiness at home warmed up in a toaster oven or microwave with a baking setting.
