Stone Sculpture Park

This park spreads along the west side of Hagi Castle ruins. The park has monuments representing Past-Present-Future, as well as playground equipment, and benches. Many of the sculptures with very skillful shapes sculptures were done by 24 artists from eight countries who participated in the 1981 International Sculpture Symposium here. The greenery-embraced grounds have become a popular place for rest and peaceful contemplation with locals, and in spring the blooming azaleas create a beautiful contrast with the lush greenery for a famous local sight.

のんびりと過ごしたい場所！！

萩城跡の西側にある公園。城内を散策していたらいつのまにこちらの公園に入っていました。芝生の広場と彫刻家が製作したモニュメントがありました。地元の人々の憩いの場所って感じですかね。観光中でなければゆっくりとくつろぎたい良い雰囲気です。
史跡に似合うのか疑問

萩城址の石垣と海岸の間に石を使った現代芸術が配置された公園がありました。こういう好き嫌いの分かれる施設は、史跡からはもう少し離れた場所に作った方がよいと思いました。
地元の方であふれているが、素晴らしいインスタレーション作品です。

石彫公園になっていますが、石の組み合わせによるインスタレーション（環境芸術）。萩城跡西側にこんな素晴らしいところがあるとはつゆ知らずでした。奥に進むと、日本海に面した砂浜にも作品が置かれており、とても癒されます。
