"This museum is located in the center of Misumi, Nagato City, a place of scenic beauty. It exhibits works by Yasuo Kazuki, a painter who left a great mark on post-war Japanese Western-style painting world. In the museum, his original atelier was restored to its original state. Exhibitions include original drawings, rough sketches and prints of the Siberia series, as well as works carefully preserved by the Kazuki family after his death. The triennial exhibition offers a different style of art than the Siberia Series, which is based on the experience of internment in Siberia after World War II. The objects called ""toys,"" made from scrap wood, are also popular. It is said that he loved Misumi so much that he said, ""This is my earth."""

「シベリア・シリーズ」でお馴染み、香月靖男画伯の故郷に建つ美術館。「平和祈念展示資料館交流展 —私のシベリヤ、それぞれのシベリア—」を見に行きました。入館料５００円がＪＡＦ等提示で団体割引４００円。平和記念展示資料館関連の漫画本やメモパットなどアメニティも色々頂戴致しました。シベリア抑留に興味のある方は是非足を運んでみてください。中庭のおもちゃとの対比が印象的。

戦争と絵画、香月さんの年表を見て、流れているビデオを見てから絵を見て回ると、強く心に迫るものを感じられると思います。おもちゃと呼ばれていた、木やブリキで作られたものの、大きいバージョンが、中庭に飾られていて、とても可愛かったです。
