Ariake Sea Tidal Flat Experience programs are held from mid-April to October on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, including Golden Week in May. Reception is at Roadside Station Kashima on the Ariake Sea; it is fully equipped with changing rooms and hot showers. After an introduction on how to make the most of your time at the tidal flats, you'll be able to enjoy them as you please. You might even encounter mudskippers. Reservations are required except for during summer vacation when individuals, families, and small groups can join in without one.

何度か九州を旅したことはあるのですが興味はあれど、未訪問だった、有明の干潟。調べると、熊本の「荒尾」佐賀市の「干潟よか公園」と並んで…いえ「体験」と言う意味では際立って充実しているのが、ここ、鹿島の「干潟展望館」でした。11月に入ると気温が下がり「体験」は終わってしまうそうですが10月いっぱいは（気温次第で）体験、楽しめるようです。服や、タオルなど、注意書きをあらかじめよ...
