Fureai Center Izumi

Tourism Information Office
A tourist center for the former Izumi Village, which had the second largest land area in the prefecture. The facility features cedar boards, symbolizing forestry in the village. It provides tourist information on the Izumi area and sells local agricultural and forestry products. Its restaurant, Jimi Kenjo Rotan, serves cuisine that utilizes local ingredients whenever possible. Fare includes wild boar, venison, konnyaku yam cake that the tofu shop makes, and yamame trout cooked on a hearth. Their Gourmet Fair with a menu that changes with the seasons is popular too. The shop sells local specialties like fragrant Izumi tea and miso-pickled tofu, part of a 700-year old tradition.
