Chez Tani Ezu Shop

Pastries
"This chain of Western confectionary shops has several locations in Kumamoto City as well as across Japan. Operating out of a European-styled establishment on the bank of Lake Ezu, the shop sells choice Western-style confections such as roll cakes and baumkuchens. The shop's motto is ""confections create happy occasions."" Refusing to bow to the times, the shop continues to make its confections using traditional, laborious methods. Particularly popular is the Higo no Kimamorika Kikori, which is made with natural, top-class vanilla beans and Kirishima Fresh milk from Miyazaki to give it a rich flavor."
